Fix Windows 7 Activation Status Not Available or SLMgr 0×80070422 Error

Windows 7 displays the system activation status in System Properties, which can be accessed via Control Panel -> System and Security -> System. However, sometimes, Windows activation may display error message which saying activation status not available, together with product ID which is also not available.

When user run slgmr -dli or slmgr -dlv commands to verify the activation status of the Windows 7 system, the following error will occur:

Windows 7 sales exceed Vista sales by 234%

Consumer Market Research firm NPD has confirmed that initial sales of Windows 7 have surpassed those of the Windows Vista launch.

According to NPD’s weekly tracking service, Windows 7 software unit sales in the U.S. were 234 percent higher than Vista’s first few days of sales. The most popular choice for consumers was the Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade followed by the Pro upgrade and Home Premium Family Pack. According to NPD, software sales of Windows 7 were strong compared to Vista’s sales partly due to early discounts on pre-sales and a wide range of promotions. Although software sales were strong, PC hardware sales had more of an uphill battle, sales weren’t as strong as growth during the Vista launch.

Concomitantly with the worldwide general availability of Windows 7, on October 22nd, 2009, Microsoft also released a collection of new content designed to enable users of certain editions of the operating system to personalize their desktops.

The Personalization Gallery on Windows.com is an online nook dedicated to offering users free resources for the customization of the Windows 7 operating system. Following the close monitoring of that space, we informed you that new themes for Windows 7 had been made available for download. It took Microsoft quite some time, but the company is finally explaining why end users can have Ducati, Ferrari and Porsche themes for free on their desktops.

VMware Workstation 7 released with full Windows 7 support

VMware has announced the latest version it’s flagship virtualization software – VMware Workstation 7 which is packed full of new features which are huge – including full 3D graphics support for virtual machines.

VMware workstation is compatible with over 20 operating systems out of the box, and can run many other operating systems unofficially.
