Windows 7 surpasses Snow Leopard in under two weeks

In only two weeks since the official commercial launch of Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 7 has managed to surpass Apple’s Snow Leopard market share.

Snow Leopard has been on the market for three months while Windows 7 has only been on the market for two weeks.

Apple Launches Safari 4 World’s Fastest Web Browser With New Nitro JavaScript Engine

Apple has launched its newest Safari 4 for both Mac and Windows PCs, which the corporation claims as the world’s fastest and most innovative web browser, featuring new Nitro JavaScript engine that able to execute JavaScript up to 4.5 times faster than Safari 3, nearly 8 times faster than Internet Explorer 8 and 4 times faster than Firefox 3. In addition to superior JavaScript performance, Safari 4 can load HTML web pages 3 times faster than IE 8 and Firefox 3, aiming to provide users an ultimate web browsing experience.

Windows 7 to open another round in Apple-Microsoft rivalry | Windows 7

Will Windows 7 blunt some of Apple’s momentum? At least one analyst thinks it’s possible.

In a research note, JMP Securities analyst Samuel Wilson handicaps the Oct. 22 launch of Windows 7 (Techmeme, Microsoft statement). Wilson’s big takeaway: Apple will grab the news flow with a new iPhone release, but Windows 7 may impact sales shortly after. Indeed, Microsoft is already revving up the Windows 7 marketing and incentive machine. Wilson writes:
