Xbox Arcade and $100 gift card for $199 on Nov. 7

Rumors have been going around recently regarding a supposedly upcoming Walmart deal, in which an Xbox 360 Arcade will be up for offer, along with a $100 gift voucher, for $199.

All of a sudden this morning, the retailer has confirmed the deal, scheduled to hit on Saturday, November 7.

According to Kotaku, the deal will last for just one day, and is part of what will be regularly weekly deals leading up to the retail bonanza that is Black Friday.

Microsoft’s Office 2010 Technical Preview program closing

As Microsoft gets closer to a public beta of the next version of Office (Announced last week), the company has just announced that the Technical Preview program for Office 2010 is coming to an end.

In the e-mail sent to participants, Microsoft noted that the public beta will be available sometime next month. Participants will still be able to access the Office 2010 Connect site for the next few weeks until the public beta.

Pirated Windows 7 Just $3

Windows 7 might officially be just away from becoming available for purchase to customers worldwide, but fact is that the operating system is already available for free, almost free, or at a reduced price compared to what Microsoft is charging for the product. Pirated copies of the latest iteration of the Windows client are being sold for as low as $3 in Shanghai’s Xinyang market, in China, according to Reuters. In this regard, it appears that the Redmond-based company will have just as hard a battle tackling piracy in China as it did with Windows Vista.

With the introduction of Bing just recently, from Microsoft, many have been wondering about the results it gives, and how they compare to others such as Google or Yahoo!. Some people prefer Google for the simplicity (and the habit of using it), others prefer Bing for the added features and extra information it can provide, and the rest prefer Yahoo!… well, the rest just prefer Yahoo!.

Microsoft Store reveals official Windows 7 box art | Windows 7

There has been a fair bit of debate about the final box art design for Windows 7; you may have seen earlier that CentrumXP revealed versions of it, which some were doubtful of, but now (thanks to Long Zheng) we may finally have official confirmation… and it seems that CentrumXP was correct. win7box

The box art has shown up on the official Microsoft Store page for Windows 7, which means it’s pretty safe to say that this will be the final box art used for the upcoming operating system. Of course, Microsoft haven’t actually confirmed themselves that this is what we will be seeing on retail shelves, but we’re pretty sure it’s safe to say that this is what it will be.

Microsoft has already updated its new search engine, Bing, to halt

complaints from network administrators about the video clip preview feature. Built into the search engine to give it the edge over its competitors, the feature allows users to search for videos, hovering over the video to get a small preview of what the user can expect to see.
